1. Fill every row, column and 3×3 box with the numbers 1 to 9.
2. Tap a square, then a number. Switch on Notes to pencil in candidates.
3. Look for squares with only one possible number. Hint shows where to look.

Medium sudoku is where the puzzle starts to push back. You get fewer givens than on the easy level, so scanning for obvious numbers will carry you part of the way and then stall.
